11.28.2011
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has announced that its zero-emission electric cars will be available for test drive and will serve as shuttle cars for delegates of the 17th Conference of Parties (COP17), which will be held in South Africa.
COP17 will showcase the Renault Twizy, which is a passenger vehicle that can be charged through regular wall sockets. The test drives for this vehicle will be held in the Moses Mabhida Stadium during the course of the conference.
The conference will also display the Nissan LEAF, which has been awarded the World Car of the Year 2011 and the Renault Fluence Z.E. Both these vehicles will be used as shuttle cars to transport delegates attending the conference and will also be available for test drives. The Renault-Nissan Alliance intends to sell 1.5 million zero emission cars by the year 2016.
